Illinois State University

From visiting campus, to applying for admission, to learning about campus life, to preparing for college - it’s all here!

You never know, Illinois State may be the place you’ll call home for the next few years.

A new beginning freshman is a student who has not attended any college or university since graduating from high school.

If you earned college hours while in high school or if you will enroll at another college or university during the summer term between high school and your attendance at Illinois State in the fall, you will still be classified as a new beginning freshman.

If you graduate early from high school and attend a college or university during the spring term, you will be considered a new beginning freshman at Illinois State in the subsequent fall term IF your high school transcript posts the high school graduation date as May or June.
